Nothing to do with economics: Kim Jong-un’s ex-girlfriend ‘shot by firing squad’

Seems a bit harsh, but then maybe he just didn’t like her any more. Two others were executed, members of the Unhasu Orchestra and the Wangjaesan Light Music Band. The trio were accused of videotaping themselves having sex and selling the videos.
“They were executed with machine guns while the key members of the Unhasu Orchestra, Wangjaesan Light Band and Moranbong Band as well as the families of the victims looked on,” reports South Korea’s Chosun Ilbo.
Far from being machine-gunned to death in front of your friends, in lots of countries videoing yourself having sex is a ticket to stardom.

Emergent Economics 
Possibly (and likely!) a fake. An expert on Korea, K. Asmolov, identified the source of these news as South Korea’s The Chosun Ilbo, which is known for its sensationalist materials that always turn out to be fake. It’s a crappy tabloid, to be blunt.
